Mechanical Test

The mechanical properties of polymeric materials are determined in mechanical testing laboratory. Our Laboratory is  equipped with following equipments.

Universal Tension-Compression Tester
The Universal Tension-Compression Tester  is used to determine the mechanical properties under static load. Tensile, compression and 3-point bending tests can be performed on this testing device. Our device has 20kN capacity and a dual-axis video extensometer. Some of the standards and experimental data obtained are shown below.

Izod-charpy Impact tester

The Izod-charpy Impact tester is a device in accordance with the standard ISO 180 with a resolution of ± 1 ° angle measurement with 22 Joule capacity. The test shows the energy absorption characteristics of the material. It is provided that a dropped pendulum from a certain height strikes te test pecimen in a perpendicular manner. The energy the bar fails is detected, and hence the amount of the highest energy of the sample’s unit area is able to withstand is determined.  Izod and Charpy impact tests can be performed. Impact test can be applied according to notched and unnotched specimens. The tests conducted and their standards are shown below.

Shore A and Shore D Hardness Tester (Durometer)

The Durometer is suitable for detecting the hardness of plastics and elastomers. Measurements can be made with the durometer in 0-100 Shore measurement range with +/- 0.5 Shore precision at 1 Shore resolution.
